An English edition, titled Maximilian Prince of Wied’s Travels in the Interior of North America 1832-1834 was published in London, 1843-1844, in two volumes.

English translation of print title: Herds of Bison and Elk (Cervus canadensis) on the upper Missouri.  (Bodmer may have chosen to identify the elk species in order to point out to readers its difference from European red deer (Cervus elaphus) and moose (Alces alces).
